Adding dummy channels?

For channels not provided by XMLTV is there a way to add dummy entries into XMLTV file please? I want to be able to select in the EPG (in GB-PVR) to watch a channel and also to record. I therefore need a programme entry (to be able to select) and ideally dummy segments (with any name) for every hour (so I can easily record blocks of time).
I've looked at the XMLTV import grabber which I think does half the process but I need to create the file in the first place - a laborious process by hand! Is there a script that can autogenerate one (for specified channels) or another solution?

no there isnt at the moment. There is in version 2. A script should be fairly easy to make though
