Error downloading listings: Cannot start string search from

Post by doc »

Hi Alan, I've seen this error mensioned previously in the threads but I keep getting it with various channels. It started with E4, then Sky Two and now ITV4. I've tried deleting the cache (ITV4 worked before I deleted it but Sky Two didn't), and also unticking the cache, but that didn't work either.
Do you have any idea what I should try next?

Thought I best also say thanks for writing this software, it's a great little app. I use it to import into Sage.

This generally means there is a problem with the data. I will have a look tonight but it is probably a temporary problem at the radiotimes end

ok cheers, i will change my coding so that if it errors during download I dont automatically copy the new epg file into sage. Its something I should have done a while ago anyway but didn't get round to.

Its nearly the weekend so hopefully it will keep me out of the pub and out of trouble!

Thanks.

it was an error in the RT data but 3.06 should cope with it.

Had the same problem with 3.05. Problem disappeared when I upgraded to 3.06.

Alan - Is there any chance you could add an update checker into the next version?

I was thinking of an auto-update checker ie. when you start the program it checks for a new version.

generally people only need to download a new version if there is a problem with the existing one, at that point they can check for updates manually
